Inside Mocai Digital’s Printhead Service Process: Intake to Return

Every Monday, incoming shipments bring printheads with different brands, models, conditions, and reported problems. Before cleaning or repair begins, each unit needs to be identified, recorded, and assessed.

At Mocai Digital, our industrial printhead service process connects intake, condition review, brand-appropriate service, testing, status recording, and return shipping. Keeping those steps linked helps our team track each printhead through the service center.

1. ReceiveLog the shipment and customer contact details.
2. IdentifyRecord each printhead’s brand, model, and available serial number.
3. AssessReview the received condition and reported issue.
4. Service and testSelect a suitable method and record the test status.
5. ReturnProtect the unit and record dispatch information.

1. Receive and identify each printhead

When a parcel arrives, we record the shipment and the customer’s contact information. We then identify each printhead by brand and model, record its serial or other available identification number, note the quantity, and connect the unit with the issue described by the customer.

Separate identification matters when a package contains several printheads. Clear intake records help prevent units, symptoms, and later service results from being mixed together.

2. Review condition before choosing a service path

We check the received condition and review the reported problem before deciding what should happen next. The printhead’s brand, model, application, and condition all matter. Some units may be suitable for cleaning; supported Epson models may also be assessed for repair. Service availability and the appropriate method are confirmed for each unit.

3. Choose a method suited to the brand and condition

Printheads do not all follow the same service route. For supported Epson models, assessment may lead to cleaning, unclogging, or repair, depending on the fault. For other supported brands, including Kyocera, we evaluate the unit and select a suitable cleaning approach. Where appropriate, this may involve our in-house-developed cleaning machine and cleaning solution.

4. Test and record the service result

After service work, test results are recorded for the individual unit. The nozzle-test patterns below show Epson printheads after repair and are reviewed as part of the post-repair check. Testing depends on the printhead model and the service performed.

5. Label, protect, and record the return shipment

Once a printhead is ready to leave the service center, its status is identified and the unit is protected for return transit. The images below show Kyocera printheads with individual OK or NG status labels and protective packaging used to help limit movement during shipping.
